WOCA Oil Thinner – For Dilution, Priming and Cleaning

The WOCA Oil Thinner, based on isoparaffin, is a versatile solvent compatible with all WOCA wood floor oils. It is suitable for diluting oil products, priming certain types of wood and cleaning tools.

It is particularly suitable for preparing steamed woods such as beech, walnut and pear.

Priming with WOCA Oil Thinner

Depending on the oil used, the thinner can be mixed as follows:

• 2:1 with WOCA Master Oil
• 3:1 with WOCA Highsolid Master Oil or Diamond Oil

Apply the mixture evenly using an oil roller, applicator or lambswool pad. Pre-treat the edges with a brush. After approx. 10–15 minutes, the primer will have penetrated into the wood. Then carry out the normal initial treatment with the appropriate WOCA wood floor oil.

Removing Partially Dried Oil

In cases of over-oiling, excess oil that has not yet fully hardened can be dissolved with WOCA Oil Thinner. The treatment should be carried out as soon as possible.

Spread the oil thinner generously over the affected surface and work with a single-disc machine. Depending on the application, use a purple pad or a beige pad with a Patina Disk. Always work wet-on-wet.

Then dry-polish the surface with terry cloths. If necessary, repeat the process until all excess oil has been removed.

Afterwards, apply a very thin coat of oil and immediately polish thoroughly with terry cloths or a lambswool pad.
